Comic Relief Fund

Devon Community Foundation has been asked by Comic Relief to manage a small grant programme over the next two years.  Grants are between £1000 and £10,000 from a national fund of over £5 million raised from Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, the programme is ongoing until 31st March 2011.  Approximately £35,000 will be available for grant making in Devon each year.

The purpose of the grants is to make a lasting change to the local community and the projects should be run by people affected by the issues they are dealing with.  There should be clear evidence of a sustained beneficial impact on the community or the lives of people who are disadvantaged or excluded through low income, disability, age, rural or social isolation, race, sexuality or gender.  Priority will be given to small, locally based groups in areas of disadvantage which undertake projects that address the needs of the community.
