Event - Third Sector Involvement in Locality working
A Localities Working event is taking place on March 23rd to explore ways in which the Third Sector Voluntary and Community organisations can be actively involved in implementing the Locality framework. The half day event will include presentations, workshops and question and info sessions.
Plymouth City Council, Police and Health Service are working together to set up new Locality Teams within Plymouth. The teams will involve practitioners primarily covering Community Safety, Health and Adult Social care, Children's Services and Street Services. There will be one Team for each of the 6 Localities. The Teams will be up and running by June.
Supporting the work of the Teams will be a new opportunity for the community to influence service delivery and priorities. This will be organised at Neighbourhood level - each Locality is made up of a number of identifiable Neighbourhoods - there are 43 Neighbourhoods across the City. Each Neighbourhood will be supported by a Lead Councillor.
The purpose of the event is to bring together Third sector organisations, to explain how Locality working will operate, and invite discussion on how Third Sector organisations can be actively involved and how they can best be represented.
The event is taking place on Tuesday 23nd March 2010 at Plymouth Engage, Carmel Church St Levan's Road, registration & tea and coffee are at 10am and finishes at 2pm, there will also be opportunties for networking during the buffet lunch. For more details and to make a booking click here.
